August might be known for sunshine and beach days, but at Pawsnickety Pets, it’s known for something even cooler (literally). Every year, we dedicate the entire month to one of our favorite things: freezer-fresh feeding.

Welcome to Rawgust!

Rawgust is our tail-wagging, tongue-licking, learning-filled celebration of all things raw and fresh. It’s a time when our freezer doors swing open (figuratively and literally), and our team gets to do what we love most — help you discover fresh, functional, and easy ways to feed your pets better.

Because here at Pawsnickety, we don’t just sell raw and fresh food. We believe in educating, empowering, and celebrating pet parents who want to make thoughtful choices for their furry family members.

What is Rawgust, Anyway?

Rawgust is our annual month-long event that shines a frosty spotlight on raw and fresh feeding. Think of it as a freezer fête — a month of sampling, learning, and discovering the best brands in fresh and raw pet nutrition.

Each week throughout August, we featured a different brand and feeding style, complete with samples, education, and plenty of wag-worthy excitement. Pet parents got to explore how these foods can fit into their pets’ routines, whether as a complete meal, a topper, or an occasional healthy boost.

We’re not here to tell you what to feed. We’re here to help you understand your options and make feeding fresh feel simple.

Week-by-Week Highlights: From Patties to Perfection

Week 1: OC Raw

We kicked off Rawgust with a true freezer favorite: OC Raw. Their easy-to-serve sliders and patties made with real, traceable ingredients and zero shortcuts were a total hit.

Pet parents got to sample OC Raw’s sliders all week long (August 4–10) and see how effortless fresh feeding can be. Our team shared tips on safe handling, portioning, and easy ways to add raw to existing diets.

Week 2: Smallbatch Super Boosters

Week two was all about convenience and flavor without the freezer commitment. Smallbatch Super Boosters took center stage with their nutrient-packed, freeze-dried toppers — perfect for picky eaters or pets new to raw.

We showed how easily these boosters rehydrate (and how quickly pets go wild for them). Our in-store demo and free Turkey Super Booster samples (August 11–17) made this week one of the most popular of the month.

Week 3: A Pup Above

By mid-month, we spiced things up with something a little different — A Pup Above. Technically, it’s not raw, but it’s fresh-frozen, gently sous-vide cooked, and full of flavor. And honestly, it’s just that good.

Perfect for senior dogs, picky eaters, or curious pet parents dipping their paws into fresh feeding, this brand stole hearts (and appetites) fast.

Visitors who stopped by between August 18–24 got free samples of Turkey Pawella, one of A Pup Above’s most popular recipes.

Week 4: Northwest Naturals

We closed out Rawgust with a raw classic — Northwest Naturals Nuggets, the raw food powerhouse your pets dream about.

These easy-to-thaw nuggets make frozen feeding stress-free: no scooping, no touching, no mess. Just pour, thaw, and serve. They’re balanced for complete meals or perfect as a topper to add fresh flair to kibble.
